A news roundup from the front lines of the culture wars
Just a few culture updates for you today. Australia’s Girl Guides is following the lead of similar organizations elsewhere and permitting biological boys to join (and sleep and change with the girls); some good political news for social conservatives in Ontario and Alberta; an analysis of the latest trend in transgender indoctrination (the Genderbread Person); one on the life-threatening impact of transgender “treatments”; and one on female swimmers being forced to change with biological males identifying as female.
There’s also two culture war news roundups, if you’re interested, as well as a column on the horrifying human experiments funded by Francis Collins of the NIH.
Over at The European Conservative, I have an essay on the late atheist Christopher Hitchens and his Christian friends—including Rev. Douglas Wilson of Moscow, Idaho, and author Larry Taunton, who wrote The Faith of Christopher Hitchens.
At The American Conservative, I have an article called “The Terms of Your Service,” on what Big Tech is doing to your brain—and what Hillbilly Elegy author and Ohio senatorial candidate J.D. Vance says we should do about it. I’ve interviewed Vance twice, and he’s one of the more interesting political figures in America right now.
Finally, on the podcast I have an interview with Jojo Ruba of Faith Beyond Belief and Free to Care on what Canadians—and especially church leaders—can do now that some forms of pastoral care to people with same-sex attraction have been made illegal. It is an important conversation to be having right now.
That’s all for this week. I hope you all have a great weekend!
