Every aspect of the world we live in today has been shaped by the Sexual Revolution, from ubiquitous digital pornography to the cultural ascendancy of the LGBT movement. One of the most important historians and cultural analysts writing on this subject is Mary Eberstadt, the author of books such as How the West Really Lost God, which explains how the revolution triggered our crisis of secularization; Primal Screams: How the Sexual Revolution Created Identity Politics, which details how our toxic tribalism came about as the result of the breakdown of our natural tribes; Adam and Eve After the Pill, and others.
In a wide-ranging conversation, Mary and I covered all of those topics—how the West became post-Christian; how porn has transformed our culture; what the #MeToo movement was all about. To understand the history of the Sexual Revolution is to understand why our society is the way that it is, from the schools to the halls of power. Give it a listen:

I really deeply appreciate this post, Jonathan. We met a couple of years ago at the Victoria Pro-Life Rally. I hope to see you and meet again soon. I have also come to the conclusion that the “sexual revolution” of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s destroyed my parents, and our family. I am researching the era myself to understand my parent's generation. I hope to write my Autobiography in the next 2-3 yrs. They were Beatnik’s turned hippie. They left behind their Traditional Catholic Education and the church and immersed themselves deeply into the era. It is fascinating now for me to understand this. Thank you again for your thought-provoking journalism.
