A few new updates for you today.
First, a column on the third anniversary of the overturn of Roe v. Wade, with a look at post-Roe America and the redrawn battle lines of the abortion wars. An excerpt:
In Europe, abortion activists are on the march; the United Kingdom decriminalized abortion until birth just last week. Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney is publicly committed to Canada’s horrific abortion regime, which also permits babies to be killed in the womb at any stage. America is currently the only Anglosphere country in which prominent leaders are still willing to expend political capital to fight for the lives of pre-born children. Despite President Donald Trump’s high profile compromises on abortion, the 2025 March for Life featured major figures from every level of government, including Vice President JD Vance, Governor Ron De Santis, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, and Senate Majority leader John Thune

I also have two updates from Latin America—pro-lifers are fighting hard in both Brazil and Guatemala. (For those of you unfamiliar with the magnificent movement in Central and South America, give this a read: “South America’s Populist Pro-Life Movement.”)
As America’s Right continues to be starkly divided on both domestic and foreign policy, several figures have gained particular prominence. Tucker Carlson, who has recently been in a public spat with President Donald Trump, is one of these figures. I’ve met him in the past and positively reviewed his last book, but in the last few years, his worldview has become very erratic. He claims, for example, that nuclear bombs were created by demons; that the US government may have cut a deal with dark extra-terrestrial forces; and that Andrew Tate (who I have written about for First Things here and here) is innocent. From The European Conservative: “Diplomacy, Demons, and Tucker Carlson.”
Candace Owens, of course, is far worse. I wrote about her influence and track record last year, and I share it again in light of her recent comments: “The Monumental Ignorance of Candace Owens.”
