Trump attacks the pro-life movement and LGBT activists target Christian institutions
(& other stories)
Hello all,
At First Things, I have a column on how Donald Trump may be redefining the term “pro-life”—and why this is incredibly dangerous for a movement that exists for the sole purpose of defending the sanctity of life from conception: “The GOP Changes Its Tune on Abortion.” Excerpt:
When Donald Trump bluntly described the horror of late-term abortion in a 2016 debate with Hillary Clinton, the pro-life movement cheered, recognizing the educational power of using the bully pulpit of a presidential campaign to tell the truth. Now, Trump claims that it is necessary to abandon the unborn to “win”—and he may be right, politically speaking. It is perhaps reasonable for pro-life politicians to try to get the best laws possible under bad circumstances. In practical politics, the perfect should not be the enemy of the good. But honest observers must admit that Trump is going much further than that. He is condemning protections for unborn children as “unreasonable.” He is calling state pro-life laws “too harsh.” He is actively undermining the efforts of pro-life politicians and could very possibly suppress or turn votes in high-stakes state abortion referendums.
At The European Conservative, I have a review of Aaron Renn’s fascinating new book Life in the Negative World: Confronting Challenges in an Anti-Christian Culture, which is well worth reading. I interviewed Renn for the article: ““The United States intends for its ideology to be extended across the globe”: An Interview with Aaron Renn.”
Also at TEC, I have a column on one of the greatest Christian heroes of the Dutch Republic—and the disgusting attempt to cancel him and connect him to the slave trade: “The Dutch Republic’s Greatest Christian Hero.”
At the Catholic Register, I have a short obituary to my good friend Albertos Polizogopoulos, who passed away of cancer at age 41 on the day of the March for Life. He was a Canadian pro-life hero: “Pro-lifers lose standard bearer to cancer at 41.”
How do LGBT activists take over Christian institutions? It’s a three-step process, which Jojo Ruba of Redeeming Conversations explains in an interview here: “LISTEN: The three-step process used by the LGBT movement to hijack Christian institutions.”

Finally, as always, I’ve got plenty of other short, regular culture updates on The Bridgehead, and you can get a copy of Prairie Lion: The Life and Times of Ted Byfield here and here, and my other books here.
If they can swap out Biden, they can swap out president warp speed who has so much baggage and likely a democrat planted to make conservatives lockdown down who wouldn't have under someone who admitted to be Democrat. How about Rand Paul, who already has a life at conception amendment on the docket? He was also fiercely anti coviet.
It's a Hail Mary pass. But really all three candidates are for abortion now, trump chomping to molest the prolife GOP platform, which promises to abolish abortion as it did slavery. We need to celebrate created equals birthday in 2026 by abolishing abortion. Stand tall with Rand Paul!
