After the cataclysms of the First and Second World Wars and the Holocaust came a sweeping revolution that blew an entire civilizational framework of morality to smithereens in just a few decades. Today, in 2020, entire generations live in utter ignorance of all that previous generations took for granted. They think differently, believe different things, and understand everything around them in ways that would be as foreign to their forebears as their views would be to those in the not-so-distant past. How did we get from there to here? It is one of the most interesting and important historical questions that face us. The chasm of time between those who lived the same lives as their ancestors, generation after generation, and those who live in the eternal, godless present is growing—and soon memories of that past world will fade entirely.
Umm I must admit that reading about sexuality on a Saturday morning in grey Britain surprised me too! But there of course is the nub of the problem. Those who write, talk or televisualize themselves for profit, will alway's preach doom and gloom. Doom and gloom sells.
Just as the thought of potential death sells vaccines, so does the negativity toward church or religion spread nonsense.
Churches can be colourful and fun! But so can supermarkets.
Churches can create places to meet and talk, so can pubs and wine bars.
You can sing at Church? Not anymore, but you can do that watching The X factor in any case.
It's not that anyone is less religious, its just that there is so much more to do to get the same level of satisfaction.
Church hasn't had good press coverage either. Priests don't rate highly on the X factor scale.
Plus we understand that some churches have signed up with geo-global initiatives. Isn't that a financial issue? Isn't money the root of all evil? Such hypocrisies are well known to the modern youth of today who through common purpose education know ALL the current ailments of religion through their own alumni press....
No, its the religious who have let down religion.
We, on the other hand, the quiet prayer masters, enjoy God as much as we ever did.
